Ice bank system is a technology that turn water into ice during the
night when the cost of electricity consumption is low. This ice is stored and
melted to cool liquid during the day when the cost of electricity consumption
is high. The chiller is off during the day. Low temperature during the night makes cooling more efficient
than the day and this reduces energy consumption.
This technology allows us to use smaller chiller , which reduce the
initial cost of equipment. Power consumption during off-peak reduces power
consumption.
Pillow plates evaporators
were manufactured for the first time in Iran by farasardkaran company.
This system has been replaced the coil system and due to the lack of defects in
coil systems, it has longer lifespan and a better efficiency.
Function
Ice bank consist of some double embossed pillow plates, which are
located in a tank . The water that is in the tank is freezed during the night
during off-peak hours and then it is melted during the day when the chiller is
off and cools the liquids.
Advantages
Reducing power consumption due to
non-consumption during peak hours –
Reducing that initial cost of equipment due to the use of lower
capacity chiller–
Suitable design for different applications –
Great solution for storing refrigerating energy–
Technical Specifications
-Ice
bank has a storage capacity of mor than KWh. The formation of ice on each side
of the plates can be reached up to 50 mm.
Almost all refrigerants such as R22, Co2, R717, Glycone, … can be
used in this system.
304 and 316 stainless
steel sheets are used in making pillow plates.
Pillow
plates can withstand 45 Bar pressure and 300 degrees.
